personally i want to enjoy my leisure time after i've worked for around 35 years. Not only this we should be moving over and allowing the younger generation to take over and make some money for their retirement
ReplyDeleteI voted YES it should be scrapped because we should all retire way before that not after, I have had the luck of working with the WRVS many years ago and most of the people working were volunteers that had enough cash to live quite well but wished to do something good for others. This working until later in life is not for us but the employing class that see an advantage in it for them be it tax on pensions keeping the young poor and keen ect. Senior citizens should enjoy their time as they wish doing what they wish for whom they wish not be forced to work because the state wont pay for their winter fuel, food or housing! Its a big world out there and if they felt secure as seniors they should and could pick and choose what to do as their strength time and will dictated. You just know we will all be forced to work longer harder and for less later in life if they get away with this. There are some that wish to carry on for the jobs sake ect but most working people would like to sit back and be comfortable with life and then "choose" to do something different if they felt like it.
ReplyDeleteThis is driven by babyboomers of the 60's,who dont want to give up their nice comfy jobs, take it from me there aint too many 65year old roof tilers/bricklayers,I dread walking round a 4-4.5 hour delivery when Im 65+.
ReplyDeleteAlso with all the cutbacks by the Condems, where are all the young folk going to get jobs if the oldies dont retire?
