March for the Hardest Hit on May 11th

I am indebted to Gail Wright of Birmingham, Black Country and Worcester branch for reminding me of this event. It does not appear to be getting the publicity it deserves.
Disabled people, those with long-term conditions and their families are being hit hard by cuts to the benefits and services they need to live their lives. The Hardest Hit campaign, organised jointly by the Disability Benefits Consortium and the UK Disabled People’s Council, brings together individuals and organisations to send a clear message to the Government: stop these cuts.
You can support the campaign today by writing to your MP, signing up for Hardest Hit protest in London on 11th May or joining our online protest. Find out morehttp://thehardesthit.wordpress.com/

Save Mount Pleasant Nursery

One of the areas I had responsibility for as a member of the Postal Executive was the Union's Family Friendly policies. It looks as though Royal Mail are now attempting to roll back all the advances we made in this area. They must be stopped.

Mount Pleasant workers are urging Royal Mail bosses to reconsider plans to close the Mount Pleasant Nursery and save this vital facility. Show your support by joining the CWU in protest against the planned closure on May 19th at 10am..
This is an open event - friends and family welcome! The more the merrier and stronger our message to management will be.
For more information contact the branch on 020 7239 2214 / 020 7239 2216 or email: mountpleasantinternational@btconnect.com. Visit their Facebook page here http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=553909142#!/event.php?eid=166918413365979&notif_t=event_invite
